The number of e-Learning conferences has rapidly grown during the last years. One of the established conferences in Europe is the yearly European Conference on e-Learning (ECEL), which in the end of October 2009 was arranged for the 8th time at the University of Bari in Italy. About 100 persons from all over the world where attending the conference that mostly was divided into 5 parallel streams.

SPIDER participated in the conference eLearning Africa 2009 at the end of May 2009. Projects were presented both at a workshop and during regular sessions.

The SPIDER supported international network for postgraduate students, IPID, will be holding its 4th annual conference on September 11-12, 2009. Read further to find out more about the topics and how to register.

The 1^st Euro-Africa Cooperation Forum on ICT Research was held on March 25 and 26 in Brussels. It brought together more than 400 stakeholders; sub-Saharan African and European policy-makers with ICT research organizations, to address ICT research cooperation between sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and Europe.  Dr. Afzal Sher, Director SPIDER, participated in the first panel roundtable discussion Africa-EU Cooperation on ICT: from Research to Deployment.
